This is the personal website of Caden Evermont. This page explains what information the site collects, why it collects it, and what you can do about it.

What this site collects

Newsletter signups. If you enter your email address into a newsletter form, that address is stored by Kit (formerly ConvertKit), the service used to send the newsletter. Kit also records basic engagement data, such as whether an email was opened or a link clicked. An email address is the only thing required to subscribe.

Analytics. The site uses Google Analytics to understand roughly how many people visit and which pages they read. This records things like the pages you view, your approximate location, your browser and device, and the site or search that sent you here. Analytics only runs if you accept analytics cookies.

Cookies. A small cookie remembers your consent choice so you are not asked again on every page. Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them.

Server logs. As with most websites, the hosting server keeps routine access logs that include IP addresses. These are used for security and troubleshooting, and are not combined with anything else.

Third-party services embedded in these pages

Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads.

Forms on this site are protected from automated abuse by Cloudflare Turnstile. Turnstile checks that a visitor is a real person without setting advertising cookies or asking you to solve puzzles. To make that check, Cloudflare receives limited technical information about the request, such as your IP address and browser characteristics. It is not used to track you across other websites.

What your information is not used for

It is not sold, rented or traded. It is not used to build advertising profiles. If you subscribe to the newsletter, your address is used to send you the newsletter, and nothing else.

Who it is shared with

Only the services needed to run the site: Kit for email, Google for analytics and fonts, Cloudflare for spam protection, and the web host. Each handles data under its own privacy terms. Information may also be disclosed if the law requires it.

Your choices

  • Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link, which takes effect immediately.
  • You can change or withdraw your cookie consent at any time using the cookie button on any page.
  • You can ask what information is held about you, request a copy, or ask for it to be deleted.

Depending on where you live — for example in the UK, the European Economic Area, or California — you may have additional rights over your personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, or object to its use. Requests are honoured wherever you live.

How long information is kept

Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed. Analytics data is retained according to Google’s retention settings. Server logs are kept for a short period and then discarded.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and there is no intention to collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided information here, get in touch and it will be removed.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
